Minnetonka is a suburb of Minneapolis and has a population of 49,000.  It is located just 7 miles west of downtown and reaches the eastern shores of Lake Minnetonka. It is home to major corporations like Carlson Group (Radisson Hotels), United Health Group, Cargill, Medica, Starkey Hearing Technology, St Jude Medical, and Super Valu.
 
Minnetonka has the unique distinction of having over 45 distinct parks and miles of wooded trails for hiking and biking.  There are no grid pattern neighborhoods making this city visually desirable with its winding streets maximizing the natural beauty of the wooded landscape.  Minnehaha Creek starts at Lake Minnetonka and runs through Minnetonka on its way to Minnehaha Falls in South Minneapolis and ending at the Mississippi River.  Residents enjoy canoeing the gentle creek.
